Monday 11/4/13: Wet Felting

Wet felting is a pretty awesome process.  It requires only a few things, namely warm water, soap, fiber (in our case we did both wool and alpaca), and a heat source.  We used our hands for a lot of gentle agitation and worked up to "throwing" and "rolling" in the final stages of finishing our little bowls and swatches. We TAC residents were lucky enough to learn from Adrienne from State the Label.  She teaches felting regularly at TAC and is doing a holiday workshop that sounds so fun.

From around the studio: October

I feel extremely lucky every time I walk into the TAC studios to be surrounded by such creative people who love what they do.  It's refreshing and inspiring.  It makes me want to give %100.  Here are some recent Instagram and iPhone pics of mine from around the studio and recent projects I've been working on.

Textile Arts Center

This is the start of something new! The Textile Arts Center is going to be my new studio for the next nine months as I'm one of the eight in TAC's cycle 5 resident artists.  So excited for this opportunity and ready to work.  I'll be updating this blog with lots of process images and other fun things as the year progresses.
